First Released in 1968 by Zodiac, the Super Sea Wolf was the diving superior follow-up to the original Sea Wolf. The newly-released sea wolf is large, just like its predecessor with its case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 16 mm thick. The watch uses a simple hour hand, a snakehead-like minute hand, and a rectangular “lollipop” style seconds hand — all of which are powered by the Fossil Group-developed automatic STP 1-11 movement, which holds a 44-hour power reserve.
Zodiac did everything they could to maintain as many design features from the past as possible, while at the same time improving on the manufacturing quality as contemporary practices allow. The modern watch also has a higher dive rating – 1,000 meters compared to the vintage model’s 750 meters. Prices for the Super Sea Wolf 68 begin at $1,395 and can be bought through the Zodiac website as well as other retailers.
